Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore Review

A few months ago Skinceuticals released a new corrective moisturizer by the name of Triple Lipid Restore. Its super power is the ability to supply skin with an effective combination of ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol. Why even care? Because your skin is comprised of many types lipids and when out of balance hell can break loose.

Lipid deficiency contributes to skin conditions, excessive dryness, inflammation, and accelerated signs of aging. As we age lipid production declines, impacting barrier function and skin’s ability to heal properly. As skin loses lipid production it’s no longer able to protect, self-repair, retain moisture, or naturally shed dead skin cells as it once could. Like what happens when your barrier has been compromised.

Lipids account for about 15% of the stratum corneum weight.
Within that weight, 50% is composed of ceramides, approximately 15% fatty acids, and approximately 25% cholesterol.

Formulated with  2% pure ceramides, 4% natural cholesterol, and 2% fatty acids Triple Lipid helps restore skin’s barrier, support self-repair, and nourish skin. The result is visibly reduced signs of aging and supremely hydrated skin.

2% Ceramides 1 & 3 increase hydration and barrier function
4% Cholesterol accelerates barrier recovery to improve the appearance of elasticity
2% Fatty Acids aid in structural integrity of lipids to optimize skin’s overall lipid balance

Ceramides and fatty acid deficiencies have been linked to excessive dry skin and inflammation
Cholesterol deficiency is linked to accelerated signs of aging

Although it’s marketed towards dry, mature skin types I would suggest this for everyone except very oily skin types. Combination-Oily skin can use Triple Lipid as a night cream. The texture is light and fluffy, melts into the skin and absorbs quickly with a light scent. I’ve been really impressed in the treatment room, too! Clients who have used the cream since its release are showing deeply nourished, smooth skin with lack of texture issues. The only change to their routine: Triple Lipid. My favorite way to use Triple Lipid Restore is over retinol in the evening as it prevents feeling dry or flaking skin! It was a game changer for me as my skin has a hate-love relationship with retinol.

  1. Hello,

I recently came across your page and love it. I have a question regarding Skinceuticals. Do you have any thoughts on their night moisturizer – Renew Overnight Dry. I’m trying to find a good nighttime moisturizer to use. If not that, do you have a good go to night moisturizer? I keep going back and forth between different ones and can’t find the “right” one. Thank you!

    1. Renew Overnight Dry has acids in it, so be aware of that if you’re using it with other exfoliants. I haven’t actually used it but I have clients who really enjoy it! When you’re shopping around you don’t necessarily need one that’s advertised as a night cream, which might open up other options for you.

  2. Hi there, not sure if Sarah will pop back, but Adore Beauty in Australia sells it, although it’s a brand they don’t ship to NZ. But perhaps Sarah, you may have family/friends in Aus who could then ship it to you. I’ve also been looking at how I can get it (I also live in Chch). I’ve got friends and work mates in Australia so I think I’ll see if one of them will help me out. Cheers
