Let’s talk about RETINAL.
You read that right, not retinol, retinal. Also known as retinaldehyde, but that’s a mouthful.
Both are a type of retinoid offered over the counter through various brands and formulations. What’s special about retinal is that it’s supremely gentle by comparison to its predecessors.
My philosophy on retinoid usage varies from the majority.
I agree, as most in this industry do, that retinoids are key to a well-rounded skincare regimen. What I don’t agree with is the need for prescription strength retinoids or over-the-counter products that are too strong for your skin type.
In my opinion, Retin-A and similar doctor prescribed formulas should be utilized to jumpstart results IF your skin can handle using it multiple times a week. Longterm use of such a strong retinoid causes unnecessary stress on skin.
Even over-the-counter formulations can be strong and cause sensitivity and/or irritation.
The majority of us don’t need aggressive retinoid treatments for regular use
Instead, using a gentle formula your skin can tolerate frequently in your regimen makes the most sense to me.
Think about it.
You have a strong retinoid that you can use a couple times a week, or sporadically, and your skin becomes incredibly dry, dehydrated, and flaky. Or without fail the angry hot red skin comes back.
Sure, you’re getting *some* benefit. But what if you could use it EVERY day. Or almost every day.
Hell, what if you could use it 10x more frequently than everything else you’ve tried?
Say hello to Sarah Nicole Skincare Preservation Serum
Personally, my skin is one of those that can barely get away with using traditional retinol, particularly in dry climates and dry seasons.
Spending years in the treatment room, I knew I wasn’t alone. While plenty of clients could use their retinoids with more frequency than me, I would say a select handful of them could use their retinol every other day without any side effects.
And that’s where the idea of Preservation Serum was born.
My clients and I all wanted to reap the benefits of Vitamin A with minimal side effects. I never came across a product I was truly satisfied with, and neither did my product junkies I would bounce ideas off of.
We felt left out of the market, tbh.
Preservation Serum is results driven even while being gentle
Sensitive skin types still need to build tolerance gradually, the majority of us in this category are able to use Preservation Serum with minimal dryness and flaking. I’ve had varying sensitive skin friends and retinoid beginners test Preservation Serum and it passed with flying colors. And it doesn’t take long for us to be able to increase frequency.
More than just a retinal treatment, this serum is packed with ingredients that bring on SERIOUS glow. You’ll notice this is a theme I’m all about promoting 😉
how do we maximize glow?
We combine workhorse ingredients that compliment one another for maximum effect.
Retinal promotes cell-turnover and collagen synthesis, fights discolorations and acne scarring, diminishes pimples, and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.
Niacinamide improves barrier function, diminishes the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines, dull skin, and uneven skin tone. It even calms sensitive and acne skin, promoting an overall improvement in your complexion.
Skin brightening peptides enhance retinal and niacinamide’s illuminating abilities.
Bisabolol soothes skin, ensuring sensitivity and irritation is minimized if experienced at all.
Preservation Serum was created for the majority. It’s not only for delicate skin types or beginners, but it’s also for everyone who wants to reap the benefits of including a retinoid in their skincare regimen… without worrying about what your skin will look like the next morning.
